Nikki I think that you are very pretty and that you have a good heart. I got in a wreck on October 2, 1999 and I didn't have any hope as to if I look like my self agian because of the scars I had. When Renee invited us to go watch you sing at Evergreen Baptist Church your songs really inspired me to go on and be all I can be no matter what people thought of me or if they stared at me because I had scars on my face and on my knees. The first time I met you in 1994 or 95, I can't remember which, I knew you had a great life ahead of you, and if I had to lose in 1993 I am glad you brought the crown to SC in 2001. Nicki, I look forward to working with you and I will do all in my power to make you get all the publicity you deserve in SC and throughout the US.Being Ms Wheelchair of SC is a great honor in itself, but being the best in a wheelchair in the Unitied States is even more an honor. I don't have SMA, but I have Cerebral Palsy which is alot like SMA, and I know the trials and tribbulations you go through on a daily basis and I can truly say if it wern't for Gods glory I wouldn't be here today my self. I have 3 children, 2 of whom have SMA and live their lives much like you do - with the belief that they are made in God's image according to His perfect plan. Ryan is 19 years old and is a freshman biology/pre-med major at Presbyterian College. Megan is 10 years old and is a 5th grader at Pineview Elementary School in West Columbia, SC. Megan is taking her 7th year of dance and recently danced in the White Knoll High School Miss Timberwolf Pageant. Oh my gosh...for a while I kept hearing Nicki Ard playing on my christian radio station but I didn't put 2 and 2 together until tonight!!! Way to go Nicki..your story is an inspiration to me!! My daughter might have a serious disease (type1) but God moves in mysterious ways doesn't he.
